President’s Letter – February 2017

By February 7, 2017blog

“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms – to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances.” -Victor Frankl

As many of you Idahoans know, the new year kicked off with an interesting start. School officials called for a snow day…another snow day…and a few more snow days after that. All of this snow eventually lead to the “Great Peppershock Flood.” Yes, our studio flooded and it wasn’t fun! In fact, most of our employees hit the pause button from work and took a few hours to help tame the disaster. Thank you Peppershock staff! Our studio is fine now, but needless to say, it was a moment we won’t forget.

Speaking of moments, the staff created new memories, but this time, they were positive ones. We took some time at the beginning of January to reflect on 2016 and move forward in a new light. We burned all of the wins and losses that happened in 2016. I mean, we literally set fire to those wins and losses and burned them in a trash can behind our studio. When we weren’t burning the past, we were looking forward to our 2017 manifest. We did a timed sticky note throw down of what all our wins will be in 2017, as if it was at the end of 2017, this became our 2017 Manifest. What we will do differently, how we will be more positive, how we will connect more with our amazing clients and more.  I know that with our best staff we’ve ever had together as a team, we can all work to achieve the goals we have for 2017. We can do this!

Since I’ve been babbling on about my amazing staff, we welcomed a new member to the Peppershock team in January. Sierra is our newest Graphic Designer and has come prepared to get creative. Can she handle our spunkiness and wackiness though? I think she can and we’ll bring out her inner goofball soon enough.

We also said goodbye to our intern, Brittany. Our staff is going to miss her but we all wish her the best of luck in the future.

Also in January, Peppershock participated in the Buy Idaho Trade Show at the Capitol building in Boise. It was a fun experience and nothing makes me happier than displaying Peppershock services to the community. We met some awesome people and potential clients that we would love to have the opportunity to work with in the future.

Drew and I flew out to Las Vegas for the Shot Show for Duck’s Unlimited and had a great time! I also got to meet up with a new Marketing Strategy partner atop of the Mandalay Bay with a beautiful view and formed a new arrangement that will continue to expand Peppershock’s services and reach outside the Boise area as well.

This month we attended the IBR breakfast series to watch one of our favorite clients, Richard Langston from Richard’s Restaurant speak on the panel, “February 7 – Tastemakers: Idaho restaurants & breweries. Photos from the event here.

Enough about the past, let’s talk about the future! Here are some things you should watch out for:

Grab your lunch and your laptop, and tune in for our monthly webinar. This month we will learn how to relate, resonate and respond to your target market.
