President’s Letter – February 2018

Hi friends!

I hope everyone had a wonderful January! To be honest, it’s been a little exhausting to jump right back into work after the holidays. However, this doesn’t change how much I love my job! The crew came together as a team once again to share our vision for Peppershock this year.

Peppershock Mini Pow-Wow

We always have a mini Pow-Wow at the beginning of the year. We had a “sticky note throwdown” to find our strengths and identify how we can continuously improve as a business. Along with 10 million people in the world, the Peppershock crew took the Clifton StrengthsFinder assessment. Every time Drew and I take one of these assessments, we find that we are polar opposites. Peppershock is a melting pot full of different strengths and weaknesses, and that’s one of the things I love about this crew. Everyone here has something to bring to the table and this assessment proves it.

Here are my top 5 strengths:

1. Command: It turns out that this strength is quite uncommon for women.

2. Woo: I love people and have no problem trying to win them over.

3. Ideation: This is my favorite strength because I’m constantly coming up with new ideas.

4. Activator: I like to get work done and get it done NOW!

5. Includer: I love collaborating with others and making sure that no one feels left out.

After discussing our strengths, we all participated in a paint night by PaintBox. We all created these beautiful art pieces that are now on display in the office!

Manifesting Goals

We went over our wins and losses from 2017 as a team. We achieved some great things last year but, of course, every workplace has room for improvement. What’s the best way to transition into the new year? Burning our wins and losses from last year! We created new goals this year and posted them in the office as an encouraging reminder of what Peppershock can accomplish if we work together.


Marketing Trends Workshop

I had the privilege of presenting my Marketing Trends Workshop twice! Peppershock teamed up with MaxGiving in Boise as a way for me to share my knowledge about these trends with the local business community. A week later, I traveled to give another presentation at Treasure Valley Community College. There, I met a new group of people from the business community of Ontario and Weiser.

It’s Award Season!

We won a major award! The newest trophy on our shelf is Peppershock’s first Pixie award! It is certainly the most interesting award statue we’ve ever seen. We won this award through the submission of our Albertsons Companies Video. It was rewarding to work with Albertsons and we hope to continue working with them in the future. The crew had fun working on this project and still talk about it being one of our most memorable projects from 2017.

Sundance Film Festival

I had the amazing opportunity to attend the Sundance Film Festival. It was a day of non-stop “people watching,” listening to pitching, promoting, and a little bit of partying. I met new friends from all over the world. Who doesn’t love making new connections?

The Complete Leader Program

I attended Day 8 of The Complete Leader program by Price Associates with facilitator Mindy Mirek Bortness. The Complete Leader is an 18 month program for executives, managers and leaders. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to significantly grow in many ways. I love being a part of this cohort and now I will have friends for life!

Since Peppershock’s inception, in 2003, Rhea Allen has managed and expanded Peppershock and has gained local notoriety in her persistent passion for causes. She is involved with the communities of Idaho and surrounding areas and has a vast working knowledge of how to generate awareness for a number of brands and causes. She is extremely diligent in obtaining effective media campaign results by planning and crafting relevant and compelling messaging for the target audience.
