Wake me up before September ends

A message from Rhea Allen

Now that the dog days of summer are coming to an end, it’s come to my attention that one dog year is not in fact the equivalent of 7 human years; the months between March 2020 and September 2020 are in fact the equivalent of 7 human years for most of us, and I bet you agree!

If you haven’t happened upon a red or orange leaf yet, just wait a few days and we will start to see the evidence of fall disrupting the repetition of summer soon enough. And with fall comes the expectation of many of our favorite things, events, and rights of passage! 

How’s our fall shaping up at Peppershock and within the Allen household?

Well virtual learning is happening, football is (sort of) happening, and the best parts of our lives are still moving forward (albeit it masked, modified, or truncated. And yes, sometimes just a little bit weird. My oldest son, Emerson, is joining the ranks of the driving world (talk about weird for this momma!) and we finally closed on our house! We are getting ramped up for Shocktoberfest 2020, I am enjoying my new side-gig as Professor Allen at Boise State University.  We are making our preparations for New Marketing Trends for the NEXT Year (coming October 27th!) and enjoying the unique and new opportunities that this pandemic has provided us to serve our clients in fresh ways and exciting ways!

Marketing and Branding in Higher Education with Nikki Koontz | Marketing Expedition Podcast – Episode 41

Nikki Koontz is the Executive Director of Marketing Communication for Southern Utah University. She is responsible for building, maintaining, and protecting SUU’s reputation and brand strategy. Featured Project

This month’s featured project is the Nampa School District Supplemental Levy!

How a Campaign Emphasizing the Emotional Benefits for the Collective Community, Helped Pass a Levy.
In January of 2020, the Nampa School District approached Peppershock Media with a challenging task. The Nampa School District had received a “no” vote on the 2019 levy, by a margin of 10 votes. The school district felt that not enough people in the community were aware of the impact the levy would have on the entire community, or perhaps that they didn’t even know what they were voting about. The levy was slated to appear on the March 2020 ballot for reconsideration, and  Peppershock was tasked with creating more community awareness around the levy and to encourage people to get out and vote.
