October, we celebrate 19 years in business!

The month of October is our ‘workversary’ month! We celebrate 19 years of Peppershock Media! Did you miss our annual Shocktoberfest anniversary/client appreciation party? Check out what you missed here and never fear, you can come for our BIG 20th-anniversary celebration next year; we’re already talking about it! Thank you to all those who purchased raffle tickets to help us raise funds for The Mentoring Network, Inc.

The Mentoring Network’s (TMN) mission is to improve life outcomes for vulnerable children by building one-on-one lifelong friendships with responsible, caring adults who meet with their students one hour, once a week, on the school grounds. Attendance, grades, and behaviors improve when children know that someone cares to show up and be their friend. The Mentoring Network serves five rural Idaho school districts (Nampa, Caldwell, Parma, Homedale, and Vallivue). My friend Donna Shine, the Executive Director, has been a part of this organization for many years. She had some awesome board members stop by to tell everyone about TMN! We have supported this organization at Shocktoberfest for the past seven years! 

I have seen some fantastic costumes come through over the years, and of course, costumes were not required, but we did have a costume contest, and voting is happening on our Facebook page! This year our theme was Disney costumes because Drew, me, and the boys all got to go to Disney World, and of course, I dressed in my favorite Disney Character! “All you need is a little faith, trust, and a little bit of pixie dust!” Voting is based on the costume with the most likes on our Peppershock FB page wins prizes and bragging rights! Be sure to share your favorites to get more likes too! We had boooooos, eats, and treats with catering done by the lovely Sherri Smith, Tasty Touches Catering. Next year we will be celebrating 20 years in business at Peppershock, and we are already planning what #Shocktoberfest2023 will become for our big milestone year! 

Another event not to miss is the second Thursday, Marketing Expedition Webinar we host live on Zoom. This time, we’ll start partnering with the Veterans Entrepreneur Alliance, and we’ll have Isaac Beldon, Executive Director of VEA, on the call to tell us a little bit more about what they do in supporting our veteran entrepreneurs. We are going to talk about getting noticed on Google. We will share tips, tactics, and tools to continuously “Get Noticed on Google” for Search Engine Optimization on your website. So grab your lunch and a laptop and come learn with us at 12 PM MST or 2 PM EST. You can count on us to have new useful monthly topics to help you in your marketing journey. They are free to attend!

Now, I didn’t want to make this too long. But I also have a couple more shoutouts to do, just to give appreciation and celebrations, some successes, and all the things that we do here.

Celebrations, and appreciation. I am now teaching for the fourth time at Boise State, and my students are just so much fun. Then, next semester, I get to also teach the National Student Advertising Competition class (NSAC). I have come to gain such a huge appreciation for all the teachers out there teaching; it’s such a joy to be a part of it all. I also want to shout out to our new interns this semester. It’s fun to have them around. We learn from them just as much as they get to learn from us. So shout out to the interns you may get to work with if you’re working with us at Peppershock!

Also, a shout-out and huge thank you to my father-in-law, Jon Allen, who has been working as our real estate broker to find that perfect house while the market is so crazy right now!

For National Sons Day, I wanted to give a big shout-out to my two boys because I love to tell everyone in the whole universe how proud I am of my sons. The oldest is an Eagle Scout. He’s a football player, and he’s getting ready to get the whole college thing figured out. Oh my gosh, my big boy’s grown up. And then my youngest is a freshman at Idaho Arts, and he is doing wonderful things with the yearbook staff and taking photos in the digital arts track that he’s doing, and I couldn’t be more proud of my boys! They are changing and growing up so much!

Shout out to my friend Mindy who is getting married. I lost my voice because we went to a bachelorette party to play in Las Vegas last weekend and had a lot of fun. By the way, I tested negative for COVID; if anyone was wondering, I’m all good. Allergies must be going on here. Anyway, she and Scott are getting married soon, and I just wanted to give some love to her and express how much fun we had this weekend doing all the things we did to celebrate her.

More news you can use and a huge, ginormous shout-out to my friend Jennifer Derion; she is an EOS Implementer (Entrepreneur Operating System). I wanted to give her a lot of love because she’s been helping us navigate this process of implementing the EOS system into our business. It’s done a lot of beautiful things for us. It’s all about process and people and doing everything you’re supposed to be doing… if you’re an entrepreneur, call Jennifer Derion, EOS system; you’ll be glad you did!

I would like to encourage you all to visit us on our website and go to and see if this unique process we do for our clients is something that might be beneficial to you or your company or organization or nonprofit that you work for or that you own, or that you’re a part of it.

I want you to look at some of the videos and some of the things that we do to go through this process and see if it’s something that you would be able to do with us; I promise the audit is not scary as an IRS audit, right? And if it’s not for you or your company, maybe there’s somebody you know you could recommend or refer to us, right?

I say the five Rs are things we can all do! Give rankings and ratings, recommendations, referrals, and rewards with a thumbs up! I will reward those of you who give us a referral because the best way to accelerate word is mouth advertising is through accelerating those referrals. So, I am asking for referrals!
